Kennedy is completely demented. He’s tied with Trump, who appointed him Secretary of Health — as the most serious threat to public health in our lifetimes. They are both deranged psychopaths who believe in Eugenics — and they, and Elon Musk, Peter Thiel and all the rest of the ‘Accelerationists’ — are determined to separate out those of us they believe have good genetics from they, who are genetically superior. They would like to see all of the ‘suckers’ just die-off — and apparently as quickly as possible.

Before vaccines and the discovery of the germ theory of disease, the average lifespan in America was about 40 years. That’s what we would go back to. And how can anyone think that this would make America great again?

Fear not, Brother. We will win. time is on our side as well as the public. This pr campaign will break. The way we know this is because people don't want their medical products. And if they do, no one wants to prevent that. Our goals are simple.

There can be no requirements/mandates for vaccines and there can be no liability protection for vaccine manufacturers.

We don't need profanity. We need only repeat our demands.

Just look at those oligarchs. None of them are remotely pleasing to the eye! They made all their fortunes to make themselves accepted by beautiful women. Being sex-starved is a strong motivator. Remember that Musk had hair plugs inserted into his cranium to be more accessible to attractive women (the billions didn't hurt, either).

I keep making the same point about our reduced lifespan all over Substack and You Tube the last couple weeks.

Reducing lifespan by reducing vaccinations equals less Chronic Disease.

I’m surprised to hear you say that the MAHA movement may help us eat better. They scare people about eating affordable, perfectly safe conventionally-grown produce, to the point that many low income families simply eat fewer fruits and vegetables because they can’t afford organic. They have reduced food safety regulation. They fearmonger about seed oils, when much evidence shows them to be healthier than fats like beef tallow. To even say we “might” eat better because of this movement seems generous.

Trump Dick Sucker's avatar

Cane sugar = GOOD; Corn syrup = BAD

Beef tallow = GOOD; Sunflower oil = BAD

Measles vaccine = VERY BAD; "Natural" measles infection = SO GOOD (Brady Bunch!)

Yes, I meant to add “I could go on and on” with examples of how they cause less-healthy eating in those who listen to them.

"Science fiction." This coming from a man who has never acknowledged the adverse life altering effects of said vaccines. Never a word except "safe and effective." He leaves out the words "for some."

Backer of the CDC which has never once conducted a study of vaccinated versus unvaccinated children.

His message is "be afraid, be very afraid."

My advice is to take back our Constitutional rights to due process and subject the vaccine makers to the disinfectant of sunlight. Let the science speak through our justice system.

Dear annapolis73: On to the business at hand. You suggest that CDC has “never conducted a study of vaccinated versus unvaccinated children”. That is a straw man argument. CDC has reviewed research performed worldwide comparing vaccinated versus unvaccinated children on the topic of autism spectrum disorder. I encourage you to read this article which directly addresses your incorrect statement: https://journals.lww.com/pidj/abstract/2010/05000/lack_of_association_between_measles_mumps_rubella.3.aspx

The study, published in 2010 is one of at least 12 published medical studies highlighted on the CDC website which have carefully reviewed the onset of Autism Spectrum Disorder in children who received MMR vaccine versus unvaccinated children. The sunlight is there already. Please read the studies. Blessings, Alan

Doc, I have read the studies, including the one which you have cited. My remark stands. I refer to wholly "unvaccinated" populations. As a doc, you understand the importance of double blind studies and/or the use of true ( saline) placebo controlled studies.

hierochloe's avatar

"grandma's first facebook foray" lol okay Im defo yoinking this turn of phrase

John Collis's avatar

Double blind studies using placebo is common practice. However, using saline in every such study may be unethical. The control group should still receive the current best treatment.

For example company XYZ creates a new vaccine against a particular disease and there’s already a vaccine from company ABC against that same disease which has been in use for a decade or so, then the control group must be given ABC vaccine not saline as it would be unethical to expose the control group to that disease. The control group for the AstraZeneca vaccine in the U.K. were given the meningococcal vaccine, whereas in Brazil and South Africa the placebo used by AstraZeneca was 0.9% saline. Did the use of meningococcal vaccine mean the U.K. trial was invalid? No it doesn’t as the control group were as susceptible to SARS-CoV-2 infection as if they’d been given normal saline. Also the placebo vaccine has a known safety record and effect. Why saline by the way, why not water for injection?

Mike S's avatar

And how does one determine saline is safe for injection? It consists of a solution of a hyperactive metal (sodium) which explodes on contact with water, and chlorine, a toxic gas which can be lethal to humans.

Did they ever research the safety of injections of saline by comparing to saline placebo? 🤔🤪

😉

John Collis's avatar

I believe that 0.9% saline was tested against a placebo, a compound made up of highly flammable hydrogen and oxygen, hydrogen hydroxide for injection. 😀

Mike S's avatar

Holy shit! I heard that hydrogen hydroxide is responsible for killing thousands of people each year. It’s so dangerous you can die from just inhaling it.

So how do we find a safe placebo? 🤔🤔🤔

Mike S's avatar

Serious question for you:

NONE of the currently used insulins (DNA recombinant human insulins and their analogues) have EVER been tested against saline placebos or any placebo.

Would you support an HHS secretary who called for insulin to be discontinued until each version was tested against saline placebos?

John Collis's avatar

Has adrenaline been tested against placebo?

What about heparin?

Actually I do wonder whether humalog insulins were tested against the insulin in use at the time as “placebo” to check efficacy, which would make sense.

Imagine the clinical trial advert for humalog insulins in the late 1970’s: volunteers required for clinical trial of new insulin product. Type 1 diabetic patients required. The trial will consist of the test arm who will be given the new insulin and a control arm who will be given insulin. Risks associated with the trial include hyperglycaemia, hypoglycaemia and death.

Mike S's avatar

Exactly what I mean.

New insulin created!!!

Let’s have a trial….1,000 subjects with life threatening ketoacidosis…give half of them the new analogue insulin, but RFK et al insist the other half MUST get saline placebo! (No way is giving them standard human insulin allowable)

Will RFK personally pay for the funerals of the placebo control group?

Trump Dick Sucker's avatar

I love when the loons fight.

Mike H.'s avatar

Totally agree with your comments. Offit, who is not stupid, is intentionally misrepresenting many things that Kennedy has said. For example, Offit well knows that no drug or vaccine is 100% safe and effective, but pretends that Kennedy’s statement is unscientific, even though that is exactly what science is telling us. He also pretends to believe that Kennedy would ll take away people’s access to vaccines when all he is saying is that vaccination should be a personal choice in consultation with a medical professional.

Erst Officer's avatar

You're right vaccines aren't 100% safe. Only 99.9999% safe. Are dwellings 100% safe? They're not? Well ban them too!

By the way, when did Dr. Offit ever say drugs and vaccines are 100% safe?

Mike H.'s avatar

By constantly parroting that vaccines are “safe and effective” with no qualification out Offit is (implying that they are 100% safe). We generally know who needs vaccination to be protected from disease and who may be harmed by vaccination; these benefits and harms need to be discussed with a medical professional before being vaccinated just as with any other powerful drug. People should not be able to just walk into a pharmacy and get vaccinated any more than they should be able to get any other life altering or possibly fatal drug without a prescription. Kennedy is not trying to take away anyone’s right to a vaccine if indicated and safe. Like many other drugs, vaccines are powerful tools that are sometimes useful, but they should not be given out like Tylenol (which actually has its own problems) or cough drops.

Mike S's avatar

Kennedy talks out of both sides of his mouth at the same time. While he says he will not stop people getting vaccines, he is working overtime to make them unavailable or unattainable financially, as well as working behind the scenes to force vaccine companies to pack in production similar to the landscape before 1976.

He may say he will not stop people getting vaccines if they are safe and properly tested, but by altering the definitions of what he accepts as safe and properly tested he can reject approval of the vaccines.

And all the while his minions and hand-picked pseudoscience crew are "recalibrating" and "reanalysing" data to produce fake science and arrive at false conclusions about vaccine effectiveness and safety.

BillyJoe's avatar

"By constantly parroting that vaccines are “safe and effective” with no qualification out Offit is (implying that they are 100% safe)."

Hi, Mike H, does the H stand for "HILARIOUS" OR "HUMILIATING"? We all know what "safe and effective" means. Please don't play dumb.

"People should not be able to just walk into a pharmacy and get vaccinated"

That's funny, that's what the new director of the CDC says should be the case: Jim O'Neill: "We should reform FDA so there is approving drugs after their sponsors have demonstrated safety - and let people start using them, at their own risk, but not much risk of safety. Let’s prove efficacy after they’ve been legalized".

BTW, pharmacists would like to spit in your face for minimising their expertise in drugs and vaccinations. Arsehole.

Saying that certain constituents of vaccines are not harmful is quite a way away from saying “vaccines are harmless”.

Every doctor on the planet acknowledges that vaccines can cause reactions, ergo they are not harmless.

So, what's the saying? Everyone wants to go to heaven, but no one wants to die?

Everyone agrees that US healthcare is broken, but now some (I am looking at you conflicted media shills) are also screaming for Kennedy's lynching when he suggests to fix it. So, Kennedy's detractors, what is your radical plan for tackling say, autism? What, it's not really a problem? We have always had every third kid on the block who is disabled, and we should celebrate their uniqueness and provide interventions for them to reach their fullest potentials?

BillyJoe's avatar

"screaming for Kennedy's lynching when he suggests to fix it"

Because he is not fixing it. Kennedy is using a wrecking ball on stuff that was actually working! And putting in place stuff that will completely destroy it.

"what is your radical plan for tackling say, autism?"

Number one: stop wasting time, effort, and money on questions that have already been answered. Vaccinations do not cause autism. Spend that time, effort, and money on further research into the actual causes of autism and on ways to support people with autism.

Bill Is Here's avatar

A bit weird. The US healthcare system is not as good as other first world countries, but it is as yet far from broken. Life expectancies are close to 80 years.

Kennedy is clearly unqualified for this job... He probably had to take a 1st year Science course to get his Bachelor's Degree. His statements on vaccines and autism are clearly idiotic. His so called attempt to Make America Healthy Again by banning a couple food dyes are at best performative...

Etc.

Greg's avatar

"His statements on vaccines and autism are clearly idiotic"

Billy, do you ever reflect that autism is the greatest mystery of all time? It's even greater than the ancient Egyptian pyramids and Stonehenge. Think about it! We don't what causes it. We don't even know what it really is outside of its symptoms. We think it might be a disability, but, other times, we are not sure and we consider it might be a superpower. We don't know if it's really increasing, or if we're just getting better at identifying it. Billy, the only thing about autism that we are certain of is vaccines do not cause it and it's idiotic to think otherwise.

Bill Is Here's avatar

You are right, it is a great mystery. I hadn't thought of that before... Thanks for that thought.... I think that is a useful way to look at it.

BillyJoe's avatar

Surprise!

IT WAS ACETOMINOPHEN!

NOT THE VACCINES!

(Smeggy Greggy is going to have to eat it. LOL)

BillyJoe's avatar

But the study has, in Smeggy Greggy's words, "a conflicted author":

CONFLICT OF INTEREST:

"The senior author, Andrea Baccarelli, disclosed he served as an expert witness for plaintiffs in acetaminophen litigation"

THE CONFOUNDING PROBLEM:

But the real problem is the Confounding problem

The Swedish study found that women who take acetaminophen during pregnancy aren't a random sample. Mothers who used acetaminophen were more likely to have:

- Infections (6.7% vs 4.4% in non-users)

- Chronic pain conditions (1.7% vs 0.8%)

- ADHD diagnoses (3.9% vs 2.4%)

- Autism diagnoses (0.7% vs 0.4%)

- Psychiatric conditions (14.3% vs 9.4%)

How do we separate the effects of the medication from the effects of the conditions it's treating? That's the million-dollar question

SOLUTION #1: SIBLING STUDIES:

To help with some of the confounding issues, the Swedish researchers compared siblings where one was exposed to acetaminophen in utero and one wasn't. This controls for genetics, family environment, and socioeconomic factors - all the things that tend to run in families.

The Result:

- Without sibling controls: 5-7% increased risk

- With sibling controls: 0% increased risk

The association completely disappeared.

SOLUTION #2: DOSE-RESPONSE

There was also no dose-response effect. Kids exposed to high doses (>430 mg/day) had the same autism rates as unexposed kids when comparing siblings. If there was causation, you would expect the incidence of autism to increase with increasing doses.

BOTTOM LINE:

We cannot exclude a causal relationship but:

- The highest-quality studies with sibling controls show no effect

- The review authors say they can't prove causation.

- Professional organizations have reviewed this and maintain that acetaminophen is safe.

- We have no safer alternative for pregnant women dealing with fever or pain.

Until we have better evidence, if you're pregnant and need pain or fever relief, talk to your doctor. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest time necessary. Do not let fear of a poorly supported hypothesis lead you to suffer through untreated pain or fever, which carry their own very real risks.
