I agree with Paul. I'm sitting here recalling an aphorism uttered by the Dean of the University of Minnesota Medical School in his welcoming remarks to us on Day One, way back in 1972: "You will learn, among many other things, that there are more horse's asses in the world than there are horses".

Daniel Beegan's avatar

Unfortunately Dr. Lee one of the biggest horses asses now runs Health and Human Services, RFK Jr.

Thanks for another great post. Keeps getting scarier and scarier. I’m glad you are there as a voice of reason in all of this. Keep speaking out.

Mary Makary's avatar

You are welcome. And gracious, unlike some here.

Cia Parker <-- this creature is Pinocchoio "picknose" Parker. It lies about vaccines, and has devoted itself to killing our infants and children.

Mike S's avatar

The current “Cia Parker” seems to be a sockie of someone who has stolen her nym.

BillyJoe's avatar

Yes, it seems so. That explains the upvotes I am getting and the vaccination friendly responses I'm seeing from that source. There is also someone called Aldous Blackwoif.

Pinocchio "picknose" Parker seems to be in urgent need of psychiatric help if the latest offering is any indication.

I will just note that the account is guilty of the "post hoc, ergo propter hoc" fallacy in this limp offering.

"Uncontrolled screaming in an infant for three hours or longer with a high-pitched moan IS the diagnostic marker for encephalitis."

No it is not.

Any painful condition could make an infant scream.

Encephalitis is diagnosed by clinical signs of specific cerebral irritation and inflammation; these may include seizures, drowsiness, coma and focal neurological symptoms. Diagnosis confirmation requires the use of neuroimaging (CT/MRI scanning), an EEG, and a lumbar puncture.

It is also not a diagnosis made by a medically ignorant mother, let alone a family doctor.

You thought your daughter had encephalitis, but it was so bad that you never even took her to see a doctor or to the ER. Amazing!!!!

Mike S's avatar

The current “Cia Parker” seems to be a sockie of someone who has stolen her nym or someone is hacking some of her comments.

Chris's avatar

Did you write this sub stack article, not Dr Offit? Why are you saying I am welcome?

Povocative Parker plays for Russkiy Mir. Stir it up Cia; rancor is good.

"Russia went to war to protect ethnic Russians in Crimea and the Donbas, many of whom were being abused or killed by the Ukraine. ...

And putin hoped to denazify the Ukraine, which has many Nazis.. Russia won. Zelensky cares nothing about human life. Europe realizes that it can’t contend with Russia and there’s no point."

Mary Makary's avatar

Genes load the gun, vaccines pull the trigger. Yada, yada ...

https://drstreicher.substack.com/p/things-to-not-put-in-your-vagina

No genetic condition causes screaming for four days and nights and then it stops, and so on.

hierochloe's avatar

not sure what relevance the link has, but it was interesting!

Beth's avatar

No clue why that link was there but I can attest that Dr. Streicher is brilliant! I recently had a patient seen in our clinic for follow up to an ED visit to remove a full soda can that had been in her vagina for two weeks. I am not making this up.

Nigel Southway's avatar

Wouldn't it be flat after a week?

Beth's avatar

Unopened. THey actually punctured and drained it hoping to be able to collapse it just enough to grab on to it but no dice, she had to go to surgery.

Nigel Southway's avatar

Perhaps if she had been diligent about her kegel exercises and yoga, she could have helped more.

Beth's avatar

Perhaps if she hadn't had a history of childhood sexual trauma and assault, she wouldn't have "consented" to having a partner put a soda can in her vagina as part of their sex play.

hierochloe's avatar

I believe it. Some decades ago a friend who was a rad tech brought home an xray of a trailer ball hitch attached to a water bottle inside someone. That was one of the most enlightening visuals I ever saw in my life, RIP my innocence.

NONE OF WHAT THIS CREATURE SAYS IS ACTUALLY TRUE.

No, you are a disgusting arsehole spreading misinformation that is killing our infants and children.

BillyJoe's avatar

It looks like the duplicate Cia Parker account has been deleted. A pity because it was making far more sense and actually saying stuff that wasn't just a pack of blatant lies.

Beth's avatar

By that logic, there would be no autism among the unvaxxed and we know that’s not the case.

Phil B's avatar

Is there no cancer among those who don’t smoke? Do you argue that smoking doesn’t cause cancer?

Putin's Pussy's avatar

Shill Pharma-Phil chimes in with woke "epidemiology"

Trust the science, egghead

Phil B's avatar

You strung some words together, congrats.

Beth's avatar

That makes no sense whatsoever. Completely unequivocal.

Phil B's avatar

The logic absolutely applies. Cancer has a genetic predisposition, and is often triggered by environmental toxins. Why would it “make no sense” to hypothesize that autism is similar in that regard?

In fact, your position “makes no sense”.

Brian's avatar

And vaccines have been studied all over the world to not trigger autism genes. But RFK is spending 100s of millions to prove they do instead of looking to other possibilities. there are many that need study, including early gestational period nutrient deficiency. Should we supplement for?

Phil B's avatar

I don’t think any factors should be ruled out.

How many vaccines are children getting today, assuming they follow all CDC recommendations? How many did they get 30 years ago? Does that not impact the risk factor?

To be fair, RFK Jr is also removing petroleum food dyes, amongst other things. And autism is not the only chronic disease that’s spiked in prevalence.

RFK is the worse thing to happen to Americans health since COVID 19 entered the scene. Why isn’t there more outrage, Dr Cassidy, you first?

Sue Heck's avatar

Thank you, Dr Offit for speaking the truth and trying to save the children and adults that trump, RFK,jr. and the GOP are trying to kill through malignant incompetence and outright ignorance.

It would be really, really nice if the text of the email received could be linked to for sharing on social media like Blue Sky or Reddit, etc.. The links provided in the email take the reader instead to some different on You Tube. I believe the message and support Paul's work. Please help readers/subscribers share the message more effectively.

RFK: “Make America Healthy Again - Die Young”

BillyJoe's avatar

Indeed. The increasing prevalence of chronic disease is largely the result of us living twice as long and that is largely the result of scientific advances like vaccinations. The irony.

Thanks Dr. Offit, keep ‘em coming and ignore the flat earthers.

Hello there,

I am so grateful for this site....the sense that we are on our own, with the "guidance" from RFK is upsetting. I am an RN that relies on WHO and CDC for information. (As we all do ). The funding and tracking that was once a bit taken for granted, cannot miss even a weeks time worth of Data. I will have this site on my favorites and share it with other colleagues.

Many many thanks.....Bernie RN

UK MHRA website is excellent, and NHS, Office for National Statistics, and others. Health Canada and Australia TGA too.

Hopefully Paul the globally congruent data from other nations where these tools are being deployed will help energise the American healthcare sector into more direct action - because it’s not only ethically responsible, but financially too! Cheaper and safer to immunise mothers, and/or use monoclonal antibodies than treat thousands annually when it can be avoided! The scourge of bronchiolitis in the very young can be a terrifying ordeal for both families AND medicos!

And I await some expected data on the reduction in RSV-related pathology in the elderly cohort too - pity the vaccine is so costly for a high risk group to carry!

DonnaD's avatar

I'm assuming that the CDC has a different method of communication directly to physicians? How does the CDC communicate the results of this most recent study directly to pediatricians and obstetricians? They are the ones who can then transfer to this information to their patients.

Mike S's avatar

The main couple of ways are via things like the Health Alert Network which comm7nicates urgent alerts and the MMWR which provides weekly scientific health updates and surveillance data.

Unfortunately these have both come under censorship with Trump/Kennedy, and have not been allowed to publish anything useful like bird flu updates or other restricted material.

Clinicians can also sign up for Emails and RSS feeds.

Judy Brinckerhoff's avatar

Paul - did you meet with senate and or house health committees ? What happened? Did I miss it ?

An article in NEJM today, "An Evidence-Based Approach to Covid-19 Vaccination", May 20, 2025 Vinay Prasad, M.D., M.P.H., and Martin A. Makary, M.D., M.P.H. states "There may even be a ripple effect: public trust in vaccination in general has declined, resulting in a reluctance to vaccinate that is affecting even vital immunization programs such as that for measles–mumps–rubella (MMR) vaccination, which has been clearly established as safe and highly effective. In recent years, reduced MMR vaccination rates have been a growing concern and have contributed to serious illness and deaths from measles."

Does not seem to be in line with RFK, Jr.

Coprophilic Wellness's avatar

It couldn't really be "in line" with bobby's bullshit, because he is bat shit crazy, and spews outright falsehoods constantly. It's in line with bobby, in that it's deceitfully contrarian, relying on misleading and unsubstantiated claims.

It is not an "article." It's an opinion piece by two shit-flinging contrarian boss monkeys, upending science-based policy by edict. Radical transparency; "Because I said so!"

The NEJM opinion piece borrows from previous Makary fuckery;

https://science.feedback.org/review/marty-makary-misleading-unsubstantiated-claims-accuse-us-government-spreading-misinformation/

BillyJoe's avatar

These two doctors are unserious people. Their public comments do not match the contents and conclusions of the papers on which they are co-authors.

The public distrust in vaccination in general is the result of clowns like Vinay Prasad and Marty Makary performing clown acts on social media.

NWCitizen's avatar

I thought it was strange for them to praise the MMR vaccine.

BillyJoe's avatar

So did Kennedy recently but then he followed up lying about that vaccine saying that it causes deaths every year (false), that it causes the same symptoms as the infection (false), and that the infection protects against CVD and cancer (false). It pays for politicians, and those with political ambitions, to try to please everyone at least to some degree.

Mike S's avatar

Sometimes the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.

Denny Siebold's avatar

Why has there not been Congressional oversight hearings about all of this “Radical Transparency?” Surely this is some sort of dereliction of duty, at best.

I answered part of my own question. Using the share link one option is to copy a link to the Substack article to the clipboard. It works well, it is just necessary to learn to speak and understand "substackese".
